As a mountaineer and eco-tourism advocate from Kathmandu, my recent stay at the Shilton Inn presented a mixed bag of experiences. The location was incredibly convenient for visiting friends, which is always a plus. The bed was firm, just as I prefer it, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was hot and satisfying. I encountered issues. Upon arrival, there was no staff present initially, and the disorganized key management involving a tupperware box was perplexing. Basic amenities like clean toilets were lacking, and guests had to find toilet paper themselves. On the financial side, the pricing seemed low for the location. While value-conscious travelers may appreciate the affordable rates, the service could be improved to match the expectations of those seeking luxury.
